Here's a little more about Sunday mornings.
What's a Sunday morning experience like?
Begin your week with God at Gateway. We start at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Our services usually last an hour and fifteen minutes.
There is plenty of parking when you arrive. When you walk through the doors, you’ll be greeted by a few people in our community. We invite you to find a seat in our multi-purpose room (yes, you can bring your coffee with you!) for contemporary worship, followed by a message from one of our pastors or teachers.
First time? Pre-register your kids for Sunday mornings.
What do my kids do on Sunday mornings?
Children are welcome anywhere and anytime. If you have young kids, we will guide you to our kids check-in area. We offer a children’s ministries serving kids (infants to 5th grade) called KidzTown that occurs during our Sunday services. Your kids are always welcome in KidzTown or in the multi-purpose room for our worship gathering. Read more about our kids ministries, especially if it's your first time!
Once a month, our elementary students join their parents in the multi-purpose for our Family Worship Service. This gives kids the opportunity to see and experience corporate worship.
If you have middle school or high schoolers, they can attend our Sunday morning service. They are also welcome to join our youth experiences on Sunday evenings. Read more about our youth ministries for more info.
What should I wear?
We are a casual church. Jeans and t-shirts are the norm around here. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!
What’s worship like?
We love music and we aren’t afraid to show it. Most Sundays, you’ll find a full band on stage. But every now and then, we’ll mix it up with more acoustic or creative sets.
People worship in different ways. Sometimes people raise their hands. We invite you to worship in the way that feels most authentic to you.
What's the sermon like?
Usually, our pastors teach from a specific Bible passage. We learn about the context, content, and importance of the stories in scripture and how they relate to our lives. Sermons usually last 45 minutes.
What other things may happen during the service?
After worship, we usually have a "Pass the Peace" moment, where we greet one another around us and share Christ's peace— "Peace of the Lord be with you." Or we simply say, "Hello, how are you?"
We also practice communion once a month. Communion means "sharing." We break bread together and remember Christ's body broken for us and his blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins. On certain Sundays, we'll celebrate baptisms and child dedications.
Where do I go after the service?
We invite you to stop by our big blue wall in the lobby to introduce yourself. This is a great way to get connected and meet others at Gateway. You can also grab coffee or something to eat in our cafe before or after the service.
