Small Groups are Kicking Off the Fall Season!

main image

Small Groups are kicking off the fall season this week! Our theme this year, “What’s Your Story?”, will encourage us to explore how each of our stories is being written by God. In addition, Pastor Ed is preaching through the same theme this fall. As we discover how God is telling His bigger story through our lives, we gain a clearer sense of purpose. We can begin to live out our passions and others are drawn into the story--the story God is continually writing.

God's writing a great story in our group! We have fun hanging out together: cooking out, eating brownies, eating chips (do you sense a theme?!). We also have some really nerdy math and science people who laugh at themselves! And we have cared for each other, struggled with difficult issues, prayed for each other through ups and downs, served together and studied the Bible together. We also have young kids in our group, so it's awesome to hear a child pray for a family member or friend or to see a 4-year-old girl's eyes light up and her body dance as we have conversations about Jesus or Elsa and Anna from Frozen or to hear a baby's belly laugh as someone in the group plays with him. The kids' energy permeates and makes us all smile! The people in this group are now part of my life and I love that they are part of my story.

So what’s your story? Now is a great time to join a group as we explore our stories together. Begin to understand your story more fully and uncover what God is doing through that story. To get connected to a group, contact Terri Eagle, .

Small Groups Begin the OUT Season

At Gateway we believe in building balanced spiritual lives by living UP toward God in worship, IN toward others in community and OUT toward the world in service.

Each season, small groups focus on a different aspect of our spiritual lives to help with that balance. Our focus this season, which begins now through June 20, will be on living OUT toward the world in service. This is an exciting time for all of us as we stretch ourselves to think about those who may not know Christ's love, get to know them and hear their stories as we share ours. In our groups we will do things like pray for people we know, take prayer walks in our neighborhoods, host neighborhood cookouts, and plan game nights and fun outings with people with whom we're  building relationships. In addition, groups will also be encouraged to choose some way to serve in the community.

While you can join a group at any point, NOW is great time! Fun stuff is in the works, the weather's warming up, and you get to meet and hang out with new people. Sign up on Sunday, 4/19, before or after service or contact Terri Eagle, .
